Balise

December 16, 2014

Evoking the bygone era of Old-World New Orleans, Balise is a new restaurant set in a 19th century Creole townhouse, featuring a Louisiana-focused menu created by Chef Justin Devillier (James Beard finalist for Best Chef: South in 2012, 2013, and 2014). The name Balise is derived from the first settlement at the mouth of the Mississippi River’s Birdfoot Delta, which controlled commerce coming from the Gulf of Mexico to New France.

The origin of the restaurant’s name served as inspiration for the initial brand development. Eccentric elements, coupled with New Orlean’s culturally rich past is reflective in the graphic details, hand-rendered type and color palette. We’re currently working with Justin and Mia on the printed materials and digital presence, which will launch in January.

Biscotti Brothers New Logo and Brand Identity

October 2, 2014

We’ve been working with the team at Biscotti Brothers over the past several months on updating their brand. Biscotti Brothers specializes in baking traditional italian cookies. They maintain the artisanal quality of their biscotti by using the freshest natural ingredients, keeping their batches small and insuring that each cookie is actually touched by the hands of a baker. There were many elements and aspects of their existing brand which we thought were successful. We wanted to make sure to enhance those elements and bring a fresh perspective to the brand. We introduced new graphic elements and type as well new and different variations of the logo and sub marks. We’re in the process of redesigning their packaging now and are enjoying our collaboration more and more with each project.

Poppies and Posies

September 9, 2014

Poppies & Posies is a boutique floral design firm based in New York City & New England. We recently had the pleasure of helping Creative Director and Owner, Sierra Steifman rebrand her successful floral business. Sierra approaches each project with an enthusiastic attention to detail. Her seasonal flowers are arranged in a loose, garden-inspired style, complete with unexpected elements such as berries, fruits and vegetables. We took her same approach to the design of her new logo and graphic elements, hand illustrating each small detail that makes up her new mark and graphic details.

Proud Mary

Proud Mary is a Global Exploration of Textiles. Proud Mary is one of our favorites brands so it was a treat to have the opportunity to work with Harper Poe on the re-brand. Harper had the idea for Proud Mary after returning from volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in South America. After falling in love with the people and brightly colored textiles she decided to combine her passions into a sustainable design business.

Edmund’s Oast

September 26, 2013

We’ve had the pleasure of naming and branding the soon-to-open brew pub, Edmund’s Oast. Named after Edmund Egan, the English-born brewer who came to Charleston in the 1760s. He was a successful business man and donated large amounts of money to the American Revolution, earning him the title of “The Rebel Brewer”. Inspired by vintage newspaper rags and illustrated fables this brand is black and white, full of texture and rich with the sensibilities of the 1700’s and today. Read the rest of this entry »

These collection of logos are from a recent branding exercise for The Woodsfolk, a family store in Melbourne Australia.
